The Memory of my Child

Me: Mommy needs to make a couple of phone calls to the doctor this morning before I can play house with you.
Gab: For me?
Me: I am going to call Daddy's doctor for his x-rays and call your dentist to schedule a teeth cleaning appointment.
Gab: Oh my!! I am going to watch Nemo while they tickle my teeth and then if I am really good they will give me chocolate ice cream. I want you to take pictures if me laughing when they are shining my princess teeth (what the doctor referred to her teeth as as she counted them and did the exam). Then when we are all done I get a token to take home a surprise.
Me: How do you remember all that? (She was only a little over 2 1/2 when I last took her for a cleaning).
Gab: I just do. Do we get to go today?
She was too funny. While I called and made the appointment she went into her bedroom and got herself dressed - shoes and all. She returned to the living room and said "I'm ready." When I asked what she was ready for she answered "To go see the dentist to make my teeth pearly white!" I knocked the wind out of her sails when I informed her the appointment wasn't this morning.
The good news is her appointment is this Wednesday so the wait won't be too painful for me (with her asking every so often when she is going).
Pictures to follow in a few days :0)

A New Adventure

Tuesday Gabrielle's preschool gathered at Mission Bowl for a fun morning of bowling. This was Gabi's first experience. It was a great time for all!

Bowling, bowling, bowling, keep those balls a rolling!

I enjoyed accompanying her and watching the many hilarious expressions on her face as she bowled each frame.

I guarantee it won't be long before Gabi twists her Daddy's arm to take her back to the lanes for another game. It was a fun, inexpensive morning. I was bummed with the outcome of the pictures I took. The lighting was terrible and I wasn't getting the right angle.

Daddy Daughter Date Night

This post is for you GG & Aunt Shari ... enjoy the pics
Saturday night Travis and Gabrielle attended the 2nd annual Chick-fil-A Daddy Daughter Date Night. The CFL folks stayed true to fashion and put on a first class night for the Daddy's and all their princesses. They pulled out all the stops ... valet parking, escorts for the little ladies, red carpet, roses, white linens, table side service & a special take home gift. Daddy spoiled daughter (Gabrielle) by ordering her her very own milk shake which she promptly removed the lid from and started pouring down her throat at lightening speed!!
Like Mommy, like daughter :0)

Gabrielle enjoyed her evening with Daddy. She received even more hugs and kisses than on a normal day (which is a lot)! This is one event we are sure to mark on the calendar again for next year.

Beauty & The Beast

Thursday night Gabrielle and I had the pleasure of attending Olathe South High Schools production of Beauty and The Beast with several good friends. The play more than exceeded my expectations. It was a night to remember!

Belle, played by Junior Katie Jackson, is a beautiful girl. She has wicked talent that is sure to take her somewhere. She held the audiences attention with her voice and radiant natural smile.

Post show I stole a few shots of Gabrielle with Belle. It was a bit emotional for me as Belle (Katie) made each child the center of her attention and took real interest in them for a couple of moments. Her smile is radiant and infectious! Gabrielle enjoyed her night out sooooo much. I told her Daddy as well as Mema and Papa that I would have given anything to take her to another showing. A thank-you very much for the invite. It was a special time for the both of us!
